Friends,lost classroom

I am pleased to announce that this week’s Free Read (our second of the semester) is Lost Classroom, Lost Community: Catholic Schools’ Importance in Urban America. Written by Notre Dame Law Professors Nicole Stelle Garnett and Margaret Brinig, the book explores the role of Catholic schools in the development of social capital and community cohesiveness through studying the effects of Catholic school closures on urban neighborhoods in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. Garnett and Brinig offer a unique exploration of Catholic schools as community builders, and we are pleased to promote their work here.

To win a free copy, comment with your name on either this page or its Facebook equivalent. We will announce the winner a week from today.

Best,

Tim
