Friends,

embryoI am excited to announce our next Free Read, Embryo: A Defense of Human Life, by Robert P. George, McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University, and Christopher Tollefsen, Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina. In this second edition of the work the authors make a strong case that we should neither condone nor publicly fund research that kills or harms human beings, including human beings in the embryonic stage. George and Tollefsen provide a detailed account of the science of embryological development and the moral norms that govern a just treatment of human beings, and make a strong case, based on sound scientific evidence and philosophical reasoning, that the life of a human being begins at conception and that human beings are entitled to certain moral and political rights in all stages of life. We are pleased to promote the work of these great scholars.

Best,
