Friends,

OHL-PI am excited to announce our first Free Read of the semester, On Human Life. A new release from Ignatius Press, On Human Life features a beautiful translation of Pope Paul VI’s encyclical by Mark Calegari as well as helpful commentaries in the form of a preface by Mary Eberstadt, an afterword by James Hitchcock, and a postscript by Jennifer Fulwiler. Humanae Vitae made waves in the Catholic Church and popular media upon its promulgation in 1968. It was talked about by almost everyone, read by few, and could safely be considered the most controversial document in modern Church history. This book offers a faithful translation of the encyclical and provides context and commentary from popular and respected Catholic authors to provide much-needed perspective on the document’s enduring wisdom.  We are pleased to offer this helpful new edition of Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae.

To enter into the drawing to win a free copy, leave a comment on either this page or its Facebook equivalent. We will announce the winner a week from today, on January 30.

Best,

Tim
