About The Irish Rover

On behalf of the entire staff of The Irish Rover - a bi-weekly, student-run, independent, Catholic newspaper - we invite you to join us in our mission to keep Notre Dame Catholic.

Out of all the top national universities, Notre Dame is the only institution still clinging to its religious heritage. However, in recent years, Notre Dame's Roman Catholic identity has come under attack, due to controversial campus events as well as a steep decline in Catholic faculty.

In response, a group of Notre Dame students started The Irish Rover in 2003 with three goals:

1.  Defend the Faith and honorable traditions of this great University;

2.  Articulate conservative principles;

3.  Engage in collegial debate.

The Rover continues to gain acclaim from students and subscribers, offering quality reporting and commentary in six sections: Campus, Religion, Politics, Sports, Humor, and Culture.

At present, readership exceeds 3,500, and God willing, The Rover will continue to be blessed with success. We encourage you to peruse this website; and on behalf of the entire Irish Rover staff, we invite your future readership and support.

Go Irish,
